Found out on Thursday that I needed at least three prints by Tuesday for class and that threw me into a tizzy so I was freaking out about how I had to re-arrange my schedule and totally forgot about doing a book review then. And I think I was spazzing out over Shiki after that (I had put two and two together from a spoiler I heard but I hadn't put 2+2+1 together and parts of the episode caught me totally off guard), and in my defense I'm hardly the only one spazzing right now, the number of views for the thread of it on the various forums are going up like crazy. And then in the evening it was Lewis Black time and any kind of show that starts at eight is going to go on forever anyway (even without your friends standing in line for autographs). He was alright, the guy who opened was pretty good too, but is it sad that I think Black makes some really good comments about current American society? I know he's just a guy who gets mad and society and yells about stuff but you know he does make a convincing point or two while yelling.
So, if Thursday was crazy then Friday I was slowly feeling more and more under the weather and decided to just go to bed early and hope I wasn't full on sick by morning. Had my normal classes, hung out with Caityln for a bit, she'd had some problems with public speaking earlier in the day and I was trying to be as sympathetic and supportive as I could, and then grabbed a few papers from the international office about study abroad simply because I remembered it when they were actually open. Went to bed early and that was about it.
Saturday, first home game day and we had icky weather for most of it, all rain and grey skies. I was working during the game part actually, although they had to send me back to my dorm when they realized I was wearing sandals (I'd totally forgotten you had to wear closed toed/back shoes, not forgetting that again, also had to tie my hair back and I'd been wondering about that one). And even thought my position said cashiering I didn't do any of that today. True there wasn't actually a ton of people but since the position was just cashier, not cashier and floater or something like that it caught me a little off guard. So I spent three hours more or less whiping down tables, packing up forks, and a few other little things. Boring but it is money so I won't complain, reminds me, need to figure out how to get my paycheck as a direct deposit and need to call the bank and ask where the heck my debit card is. It's not that I don't have money, it's that I have absolutely no way to get at it. Finally finished up Toothless's tail fin this evening plus a little headband I've been making of odds and ends, need to figure out how to photograph them now and upload them to dA soon and I'm seriously debating bringing toothless to the knitting club's meeting to show him off. Also saw most of Tokyo Godfathers on a livestream but it was lagging like crazy and the ads kept me from seeing the ending. I loved what I saw but with everything I missed I don't think I can do a proper review on it.
So, bed now for me and who knows what tomorrow. Photo lab of course to get that last print done (managed to get two done Friday actually, right before I went to Japanese class and instead of asking our guests "what food do you like?" I asked "do you like food?" or maybe I just said "you like food," not my best moment). Geh, I'll figure out something to do tomorrow, erm, today, when I get to it....
