August the 11th: Impressive thunderstorm we're having out there

Aug 11, 2010 23:16

Glad I finally got both my laptop charged AND took a shower before a thunder storm, much nicer than waiting it out. Not so nice is having my bed crowded with stuff (mainly the Toothless plushie pieces) so Midnight has to come up and sleep pressing up next to me. Think the thunder is worring him but that's still no reason for his claws to be sticking into my leg, plus he's made it impossible for me to get off my bed (or nigh-impossible in any case), dang cat.
No real news to report on today, did get a new jacket/cardigan today from Gap and, while my mom and I were looking around shopping I had a bit of a creepy moment. You see, last winter or spring I was thinking of outfits for a character in a story and thought of a knit garment, sleeveless, a little thick but not chunky, came down to the hips, fastened slightly asymmetrically with buttons, and had a huge floppy rectangular collar. It's pretty darn freaky seeing variants of this EVERYWHERE I go now. Honestly, I'd seen a knitting pattern a bit similar to it when I was working this out in my mind but nothing on this scale, it's quite creepy, and I must say that my idea looks way better than anything I saw in the shops.
So, guess I'll kill a bit more time before bed and get more sewing done tomorrow. And knitting, I'm pretty close to finishing up that first legwarmer and my wrists aren't twinging anymore so I'm less worried about that as well. Only have one book left from the library too so I might get through some more Sherlock Holmes before I leave after all.
