July the 10th: Grumpy all day

Jul 10, 2010 23:27

Managed to be hungry and yet not hungry all day (erm, mentally I wanted nothing to do with food but my stomach had other ideas, does that even make sense?) and I managed to jam the back screen door today. Honestly I have no idea what I did, I was debating leaving the door open for Ted and tried to close the screen door more securely so bugs wouldn't get in and then closed the door anyway since the door had been closed before I went to put the laundry out. And then Ted couldn't get it open and it took me a few minutes and my longest screwdriver to get it to pop open (honestly I'm not even sure how that worked, I partially unscrewed a screw near where it seemed to be stuck, put it back in, and then got the door open).
Nothing else to note, another book review up, reading The Windup Girl now (reminds me of The Diamond Age/A Young Lady's Primer but I don't think I ever finished that, I was close to the end, skipped ahead to the last scene, went WTF and put the book away if I remember right) and I do wish there was a dictionary in the back for all the Thai terms. Heck, I wasn't sure if they were real words or if it really was Earth until I came across some Japanese I recognized but I think I picked up the Thai words in context. Thinking of that I just googled a fruit that keeps popping up in the story called a "ngaw" (thought it might be a kiwi from the way it was described) and holy crap, that is the strangest fruit I've ever seen, hands down (and not a kiwi for sure).
Not much else to say, signing off now, world cup final tomorrow!

the diamond age, book, breaking stuff, strange, the windup girl, soccer, fruit
