Feburary the 6th: Not as bad as yesterday...

Feb 06, 2010 23:21

...but still pretty nasty weather. Bet all the slush is freezing right now too, but the sun should be back tomorrow! Good thing, I was able to get out to the library for a bit so I'll probably do that tomorrow, plus I'll be shooting my parts pictures. Hmm, anyone know what temperature batteries stop working at? It's been around freezing point here for the past week so I'm a little worried (but not too much since the battery only powers the light meter on my camera, although I still need that right now).

Got a bit of school work done today. I skimmed the history chapter, looked at the study guide, did the quiz in the back of the chapter, did the practice quiz online, and then did the quiz the teacher assigned where I got a 95. THANK GOD, I kept getting 80s on them because there were a few questions that I hadn't noticed in the book that kept throwing me off, enough of them to lower my grade. Guess this is my new approach now huh, study for the quiz. It's not like I don't already know half (or 3/4ths) of this stuff already, the wording on some of the details throws me off.
Plan to work a bit more on my Japanese workbook pages later (got 4 left, I figure if I do two tonight, two tomorrow, and go to the drills on Tuesday I'll be ready for the test, with extra studying of course, reminds me, really need more notecards...) and I did a bit of work on my Counterculture power points. One is about me which I did a bit of (grr, I hate that I can't put pictures on the power point on a Mac and then expect it to turn up when I show the power point on a PC, means I have to transfer over some photos first) and I tried to do a power point on well known photos of the counter culture but I was having a hard time finding ones that seemed to work. So back to Plan A, power point on some of the better known slogans of the counter culture (yes I was inspired by all the ones on the book cover, but I'm hoping I can find more than just those, worst come to worst I'll do a power point on the counterculture's effects on Europe and Mexico, thank god this isn't due for another week).

Nothing else to say, I watched anime, watched Project Runway while working on a tie for my Soul Eater cosplay (it's not perfect but I'm really proud of it actually, it's kinda cute too) and I expect I'll cut out pieces of the shirt tomorrow. Probably, my roommate is usually in the room all day Sunday and I would prefer to do my sewing when she's not in since A) The sewing machine is noisy and B) I need to alter this pattern so I will be talking to myself a lot and that seems to unnerve her (understandable). So hopefully I'll find time to do that tomorrow, and once I cut it all out I can use the scraps to (partially) stuff Furret (I've been waiting until I have a lot so I can save on stuffing, this is a long plushie) and hopefully I'll have that finished by Sunday evening. Hmm, I wonder if I should bring in my B. Rabbit plushie when I'm doing my Five Minutes of Fame power point as a visual aid, it's my best plushie now and with the jacket on it it's more than just a plushie too. And we all know I love any excuse to carry around a stuffed animal (guess I never grew up ^^).
So, kudos and a thanks to the snow plow that has been working on the parking lot outside of my dorm for the past few hours (yesterday it was a mess to walk through, they didn't get around to plowing out even a single pathway until almost the evening, guess they were waiting for the snow to tamper off, so the only places to walk were in the tire treads) and a lot of the walkways were salted today/less icy thank god. And speaking of cleaning, finally cleared off my desk and wow, soooo much space. Need to clean it again though, it's got a bit of dried craft glue on it which looks really messy.
So, signing off, maybe I'll even get some homework done later!
