January the 20th: And the weather is starting to go downhill again
Man, I was enjoying the past few days of good weather and it looks like it's about to end. Hope it's not pouring this weekend since I need to get more photos for photography (especially since I finally found the Media Center! Took me 20 minutes though, the Tech building may have been designed by overenthusiastic architecture majors but I'm POSITIVE that Belk was based off a rabbit warren). Actually, I really hope it isn't raining too hard on Friday as well since I probably need to make a WalMart run that day and I've already done one of those in the rain. Bleh.
But the rain was only drizzling when I went off to Japanese this morning (gah, totally forgot about my homework like pretty much everyone else, but I sorta kinda rushed it off in a few minutes, IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE :D ) and it was heavier when I left. Lightened again as I went off to Politics and then was deciding what to do next when I came out of it. Nothing much to report in those classes but I think I threw my politics professor off when she asked what Pluralism was and I said it was more than two political parties (it was just supposed to be groups in general but I'm used to having to use it as an example of how you can have something other than a bi-party system, some people think that's even in the Constitution the idiots...). And like I said, before the class I actually did find the Media Center (it was under a different name than I expected, hell, I had to go to the tech center to see if they knew what I wanted and thankfully the girl there did) but the AppExpress system wasn't working so I wasn't able to pay for my film and I'll have to go back tomorrow. Good thing I have cash but I hope they get the Express system up and running, the ATM (well, I have found more than one actually) only gives out 20s so I try to be as careful with my cash as I can. Good thing they have an ISO close to what I need, I doubt that right now the difference between 100 and 125 ISO is going to show up in my photos (oh, and I had fun adding photography related bumper stickers/flair to my FB profile, lol, I shoot people!).
Hmm, still watching Denno Coil and Gankutsuou (think I spelled it right this time, grr, I don't know if I can even say that word) and I should finish up the former tomorrow or so. Gah, for some reason that show nearly makes me cry and makes me nostalgic for a childhood I never had. So they're may be a sob fest tomorrow as I wrap things up, just a warning.
Finally, a sad article on white-washing on book covers. I had never thought about it before, but I'm horrified that after a few minutes contemplation I can only come up with three covers that had (distinctly) PoC on them. I know that I don't consider the people on covers a representation of the characters anymore but still, most people do and I did for a long while!
Signing off, off to the crazy Tech teacher tomorrow, somebody give me patience or I'm gonna regret it (distractions are an acceptable alternative).
