Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
I am a girl after all! Albeit a dumb one at times, but more on that later.
Went up to MA this weekend and Aunt Phyllis and I did some shopping. I tried on something that was not only pink but also a skirt! I didn't buy it because even with two layers it was still see-through and would have necesitated a slip, which I don't own so...But trying it on counts, doesn't it. I also loved the size but I am determined not to get hung up on letters and numbers. On a somewhat related note though, going tomorrow morning to check out the local Planet Fitness. It's heaps cheaper than the YMCA but doesn't sound like a total gym rat place. I want to keep up the weight loss but it's too damned hot to exercise outside.
Oh yeah, the heat. Ties into me being dumb. My car is pretty. I ♥ my car. My car however is also black which means it's an oven on days like today. Given the current price of gas I didn't want to waste gas by running the AC. As a result by the time I got home I was quite overheated from the sun coming in the sunroof and my driving arm is tomato red from sunburn. Like I said, not the brightest crayon in the box. I think I'll start using the AC.
Drive and weekend went well. beginning, your highways and drivers were *very* well behaved. I love how they've finished 99% of the construction on 84. I waved when I passed your exits and was very happy--took theparents 7.5 hours to get back from Enfield the week before last--I happily made it to Boston in just over three hours. That makes for a happy Cari! And ratkrycek, when you're back in these parts I'll come down 95 to see you! Got a bit more shopping done this weekend and came home to fnd my closet had been fixed so I can now put away clotes and re-find my floor. Bed is buried which is not an issue tonight--am set up on a flip-and-fold in the den where there be AC.
Saw Devil Wears Prada--good movie and Meryl Streep was wonderful as always. Was also nice to catch up on some American TV but sunneyone/itcouldbelove, I need some Crossing Jordan help because the episode I saw had my head spinning. Jordan nearly engaged but sleeping with Woody? Bug somewhat jealous of Lily's boyfriend? Garret with a drinking problem? Is Max totally gone now? Can either of you or someone else who watches give me a reader's digest version of this season because I am totally confused!
Came home and checked e-mail and found my first homework assignment for class. Guess it's really real now. It's not a bad assignment, sixteen open-ended questions and eight chapters to read. Bit of a challenge seeing as I don't have the text yet. I'm trying Cheapest Textbooks which acts as a search engine of sorts, but those of you who have bought books more recently than I have, any other suggestions?
I think I'm glad I'm only working PT right now, want to get a good head start on things.
