An update as to the various books littering
my bedside table.
(This list does not include the stack of borrowed books on the floor of my bedroom, the books on hold for me at the library, or those on my bookshelves that have yet to be read ... there simply is not enough time in the day.)
I waited quite a while to start reading the Harry Potter books ... I'm a bit hesitant when it comes to trends, but I've had so many of my friends who love books recommend them, that I finally had to break down. Better late than never, I guess.
The Color of Water was given to me by Verda, my friend Juan's wife. She's an ardent reader and is especially genius when it comes to children's books. However, I'll take any recommendation of hers without question. She is also the reason A Return to Modesty, The Body Project, and The Scarlet Pimpernel are on the list.
Slaughterhouse-Five is my very first "caught" book. (Go
here if you don't know what that means.) Thanks to
antof9 for the location hint.
I spent half an hour perusing the BC forums tonight, and as a result, have added 11 books to the already lengthy list of holds on my account at the library's homepage. Somebody stop me!
