alive and kicking!
Welp, when we left off, our dashing heroine was flying Eastward, heading back into the trees, naught to be seen until she figured out her laptop/internet situation....would gravity prevail?
Yes, yes it would. I dropped my backpack in the airport and killed my archaic (but faithful) laptop. I still haven't worked out the internet situation yet, but I did purchase a new, shnazzy laptop that came with a wireless printer and an old version iPod touch. I'm not sure what to do with the latter yet, but the former is getting plenty of use already.
There's a concert in NYC a week from tomorrow I want to see, but I have some other duties that I will probably need to attend to. While I'm currently in a holding company for a couple of months, I have other training to work on until my class picks up. So I'm going to do my best to get there and back quickly, but we'll see...my bank account is suffering a bit.
Yeah, I'm just posting about nothing now. Things are going well. All my roommates are from OCS this summer, and all but one from my platoon. They're pretty cool. Three of us are in the same platoon now and the other two are in purgatory, waiting to see which class they'll pick up with. It's funny, but it really feels like I'm starting college all over again. I had 5 roommates each year in college and those dorms now look like a palace compared to the space we're crammed into here...but we reorganized, all seem to be on the same page and are getting along quite well.
There's a lot of sitting around, but as things are about to get uber busy, I don't mind so much. I had more in my head to say, but now I can't remember. We had a fire alarm go off at 2 am...that sucked...so I'm going to bed now...
