1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, or your favorite kind of sandwich, maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.
The questions from Clyde and my answers:
1. You can either save all your money and retire in ten years or invest it and hope. Pick one.
What money? :P I'm not much of a gambler... and although I'm probably pissing away my 401k by investing 100% in my company instead of diversifying, I don't know much about it and continue to stay in this really lame rut of ignorance. I think a wiser choice is to save it.
2. You can spend one day with any person, living or dead. Who is it?
This was difficult for me to answer... At first I thought of Jesus Christ, then Maya Angelou, Frida Kahlo, Kurt Vonnegut, Ghandi... then I finally realized without a doubt, my mother.
3. You're off to another country for a week. What three things do you put in your carry-on that most people wouldn't think of and you can't live without?
Integrity, Dignity, and Love(ity). My carry-on, of course, is not real. Just like the trip to another country for a week.
4. You have enough money for your dream home. Describe it and where is it?
Quiet, peaceful surroundings... near a beach or a private wooded area, somewhat secluded but near enough to family, friends and shopping. A brick house large enough to move around freely, airy, lots of windows, all hardwood floors, french doors, sun porch ( possibly a hot tub there). Decorated very simply... lots of white, subtle shades of blue. Vases of fresh flowers (white roses, light pink mini-carnations, daisies) in each room from my big garden outside the windows.
5. If you could change one thing in your past, and only one, what would you do different?
I would have somehow become self-sufficient and self-reliant by age 15 or so. All of my deepest sorrows in life have been because I was so dependent on someone else, for love, money, freedom, approval (self-esteem), sex, happiness, faith, hopes, dreams...
