My friend and mentor
Just got the news last night that my manager is moving on to bigger and better things. I have mixed feelings about this, as I told her. I'm really happy for her, it will mean better pay, less work, and new avenues for her, and if there's anyone deserving of that, it's her.
I've become attached to her, though, as a friend. And if I ever have to submit in any fashion to my previous manager, I'll off myself first. She felt it wouldn't be a problem since I work third shift, and previous manager works second... but anything can change around here in a heartbeat.
The good part about it is that she will be managing a team of the supervisors she keeps insisting I'm ready to join. So maybe it'll all work out in the end, anyway.
