Title: Playground
Pairing: Jonghyun/Key
Rating: G
Summary: On sad, rainy days, good memories should be relived.

"Kim Jonghyun, I hate you!” Kibum yelled as the said boy dragged him along, pulling him into a dim lit bookstore. The rapper sighed and looked down at the hems of his jeans, which were soaked from the puddles of rain he had stepped into. “You are so going to take care of these.”

“What do you want me to do, take them off?” Jonghyun smirked, hooking his fingers in the loops of Kibum’s belt. The younger pushed him away with an annoyed groan, running a hand through his soaked hair. His eyeliner was probably all over his face and he could not comprehend how Jonghyun was still completely dry. Not a single wet stain could be spotted on his clothes, his hair or his face. Kibum frowned and sighed deeply. He should’ve brought a jacket, or even better - an umbrella.

“Excuse me,” a soft voice called out from behind them and both guys turned around in perfect synchronization. A girl taller than Jonghyun but shorter than Kibum stared at them, a nervous smile playing with the corners of her lips while she fidgeted with a bunch of keys in her hands. “I’m going to close the shop now. Are you two looking for something? Because maybe I could make an exception…” She tilted her head in a cute way and Jonghyun showed his signature smirk again, receiving a stab from Kibum’s sharp elbow in between his ribs.

“Ouch,” Jonghyun hissed, shooting a murderous glare at Kibum before turning back to the girl. “No, we were just looking for shelter. But it’s clearing up now, so we’re leaving again!” He grabbed Kibum by his arm again and drew him out of the store, dragging him into the rain.

“It’s clearing up, you said?” Kibum nagged, smacking Jonghyun’s arm but unable to escape from the firm grip. “Can’t we just go home?”

“No, I want to show you something!” Jonghyun called out, his voice barely drowning out the loud booming of the thunder. Kibum’s heart skipped a beat when a bowl of lightning lit the dark sky, illuminating the empty streets.

He protested as much as he possibly could, altogether while slamming and pushing his hyung, but nothing stopped Jonghyun so he eventually gave up and just let himself be dragged along. When Jonghyun stopped mid-step and Kibum bumped his nose into his back, the blonde casted a glance over the elder’s shoulder. All he saw was an empty, soaked playground. Jonghyun let go of Kibum’s currently numb arm and nearly skipped towards the slide, climbing onto it.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Kibum whined. He didn’t bother to run anymore since he would get soaked anyway, so he slumped onto one of the swings. “We came here to play? It’s raining, couldn’t you have taken me with you on a sunny, warm day?” he nagged.

Jonghyun, who sat on the end of the slide, cocked his head to the side and stared at Kibum with raised eyebrows. “Don’t you remember?” he asked. The small pout on his lips couldn't change Kibum's gloomy expression.

“Remember what,” Kibum said flatly, pushing himself off the ground and rocking back and forth on the worn swing. It made scary, squeaking sounds and Kibum wondered if it would collapse if he went too hard, too fast.

“Let me give you a hint,” the vocalist said, hopping onto his feet and walking over to Kibum until he was almost flushed against the other. He looked down at the younger, grinning a little while he took off his jacket and Kibum wanted to stop him because of course their lead singer couldn’t catch a cold during their promotions, but before he could even open his mouth Jonghyun had already swung his jacket over Kibum’s shoulder, leaving the younger staring at him in confusion. Jonghyun leaned forward, his hands holding onto the chains that attached the swing to its stand, holding Kibum still. Kibum just blinked at him and when Jonghyun leaned down, pressing his lips against Kibum’s with closed eyes.

When he pulled back, his pink lips still forming a playful grin, Kibum couldn’t help but copy the expression. “Oh,” he said softly, his voice an octave lower than usual. “Now I remember.”
