the ponderings of mike pt. 1
so here's whats going through my head at 9:46 tonight:
wow...this room is really quite at night when no one else is in here. i kinda wish i had the cable hooked up to the tv(me and joel haent bothered hooking it up since we moved in). i think that would make for some welcomed background noise right about now.
i should be working on a program right now but ah hell...who cares. its not due until friday(althoguht the prof. explicitly said "dont wait until the day before to start on it"). oh well, i never claimed to be a good student, only that im ridiculously smart.
we have out first frisbee tourny of the spring season this weekend. its in savannah and there will be about 30 teams there. we've gotten alot better but we have some new guys so im interested to see how we do. if nothing else itll be alot of fun. those guys rock.
also, i think i may have come to a realization today. i think i may actually have some creativity. in the past 2 projects that ive done in drawing 2, ive really felt like i had something driving me. i dont know if it was inspiration or just an idea of something i wanted to do/portray but when i was done i was very pleased with myself. rather than just seeing a replica in my artwork, i actually saw a piece of me...some of my own kinda touch, or personality. by that i dont mean that i had some hint of humor or zaniness in the piece but i found myself making concious decisions as to how i wanted to go about the drawing from just gut instincts rather than all being based on the rules of drawing.
valentine's day was cool as well. ive never really had a valentine before and i was really special. like the whole art thing, i kinda have a feeling thats going in the right direction as well. i think i may actually be learning how im supposed to be in a relationship, so thats groovy.
on a nerdier note, i downloaded something calle styleXP. it totally rocks my face off. it allows you to not only change the theme of windows xp but it lets you change many many of the facets of the OS. for example: i have a skin installed now that basically emulates the macintosh OS. click here for a screenshot if you check out the screen shot, youll notice that the task bar is different, the 3 buttons at the top right of the menu bars of windows are different and even the buttons(under the google search field). anywho, thats groovy.
well...i guess thats about it for now. like i said, i have a tourney this weekend so i prolly wont post again until sunday night/monday. take it easy everyone!
