i give up.. im gona be a lifer
you know, after working at disneyland for 8 months, it does start to get a little tedious. answering the same questions over and over again, wearing the same clothes, counting out the registers so many times you have the 12 digit close out bag number memorized for all the registers in le petite and hatter... and then you experience that one moment that brings the magic back and makes it all worth it again.
the other day i was working at le petite alone during the fireworks, and the dad came over during the fireworks to buy his daughter a hat and get it written on while the fireworks were going and before the after fireworks rush began, smart man. as the hat was going through the machine i was talking to the little girl who was no more then four years old because she was afraid of the fireworks and didnt want to watch them, and she was telling me all about her day and how much fun it was and how she got to see all her favorite characters, and it was just so cute. and then at the end of the fireworks when tinkerbelle comes out again, her brother who is sitting in the stroller not to far away and who is maybe, maybe 5 years old jumps out of his stroller and goes "DADDY DADDY LOOK ITS TINKERBELLE!" and starts jumping up and down waving and was all excited, and goes running up to his dad and grabs his leg, and his daughter is sitting on his shoulders watching in awe, and after the fireworks were done the little boy just goes back and sits in his stroller and goes "this is the happiest day of my life..." i swear i felt that tear in the corner of my eye, and he just looked at me and smiled, and i gave his sister her hat, and she was so excited and put it on and as the dad was walking away she blew me a kiss and waved. yea, i can definitely tell you know im gona be working there for the rest of my life, not necessarily in stores, but just for the company.
p.s. friday will be amazing, staying the night at my besty's house, dress up in the morning and go to disneyland with all the friends for an amazing day of bootstrappers, billys, aladdin, jedi, you name it, so excited... :)
