Google beta-ness infuses entire Google culture

Tristan goes to a Google daycare center that opened two Augusts ago.  When they opened, they had a draft Family Handbook.   The Family Handbook contents are important, they include things such what kind illness should keep your child how.  It's still in draft almost two years later and despite them having asked us on multiple occasions to sign that we have read the Family Handbook.

I lost my original email copy when I left Google, so I asked for it again.  After no answer for three months, I asked again, a month later, I was sent a newer draft.

I guess it's still in beta.  I see it as a reflection of a Google-wide weakness that sometimes happens, where people want everyone to "have input" and no one steps in and says "ok, we're done now".  It's a striving for perfection when some pragmatism might be better.
