Turkey Day...CNN, and feeling like and outsider.

I am sitting in the commuter lounge at school watching CNN before my Religion class. Man what was OJ thinking writing a book!?!? YIKES! Anyway, I am waiting to go to a religion class that make me feel like such an outsider...i only know one other person in this class who is a christian and to be honest...i feel like I am under attack when I am in that class. It makes me so sad that christianity is so misrepresented and misunderstood...you know what makes me even more sad?...well, it is the fact that sometimes we as Christians do it to ourselves. We give people a reason to look at us and not want to have anything to do with Christianity... we do it by the way we act and the way we talk...we all know it too. I have found myself just astounded by the weird things that people put their faith in these days too...I am taking a yoga class is it is based on very Hindu ideas and it is just plain weird and people would rather believe this than in Jesus Christ...I don't want to get on a soapbox or anything like that, but I just ...I dunno....feel...saddened by it. Anyway, I guess it is not a bad thing that I am feeling this way...I am learining and experiencing a lot so, I have no right to complain. I suppose in the spirit of the season I am THANKFUL for it. :-)
Thanksgiving is going to be different for me this year. I have two families to eat with! YAY! I am excited as I talked to my stepmom the other day and she has asked me to help cook...which I miss doing. (I cooked thanksgiving dinner in the years after my mom died) I will spend the morning and early afternoon with my dad and stepmom at their house and then have dinner with my second family (the one I live with) which should be good. I am so thankful for them and the opportunity to live with them. I think it has been one of the best decisions I have made... Things seem to really be looking up for me these days. BUT I do have to say that I think the most exciting thing for me this Turkey day is that for the first time ever....I am bringing someone home with me ....his name...Steve...and he is coming to spend Thanksgiving with me and both my families...I am excited and terrified all at the same time. It is really cool that he is so eager to meet my family and stuff, but I am worried about my family relentlessly interrogating him. We are not officially anything at this point BUT I can only speak for myself and say that I am defiantely WAY interested. I sure hope that my family will keep from scaring him away....EEEEEEEEEK
I hope everyone has a great thanksgiving!!!!
