ACen 2009 + Other Awesome Things

1; Main points for ACen '09:

We lugged two heavy backpacks, a duffle bag, a huge suitcase, a sniper rifle, and a giant mallet on a car ride, two trains, and a six block walk. With 8 other people and their respective bags in tow. Total travel time: about 5-6 hours. WE'RE JUST GOING TO DRIVE NEXT YEAR, MMKAY?

On that note, we might also save up and spring for our own hotel room. 8 people in one room for almost five days gets a bit tiring, although overall there were no major unpleasantries. Everyone from club is pretty cool. I was the only girl in our room, btw. Aside from being the only person to really clean the whole weekend, it was not too bad. Just crowded.

This was the first convention I was really proud of my Yoko costume. Despite the fact that it was my first time styling a wig and it has a few obvious flaws, it still looks 10x better than past incarnations. Everything else looked pretty damn good as well. I still have the best gun. Had about a million pictures taken (including about 20 with one particular asian girl dressed as Felicia from Darkstalkers, I CANNOT FIND PHOTOS ONLINE THOUGH DAMMIT. She groped my boob. Good times.)

A bunch of people in our group seem to think that a massive One Piece group for next year is in order and I'm tempted to do Boa Hancock. If that plan falls through, I'll probably go with Ishuu from Xam'd.

As far as purchases, I spent about $70 at the 3PS/Mac Hall booth (two books and two shirts -- look at the website, Asev, the one picture Matt posts and he has a drink in his hand, why can't we just bring him booze next year and cut out the middle man? ;3) and another few dollars on a Yoko skull keychain. Other than that, mostly asian food. Mmm, unagi and ramune and melon pan...

Went to see M.O.V.E. in concert, blew out eat drums, good times were had by all.

Overall, I had a great time and I'm already making a ridiculous amount of plans for next year, woo~

2; STAR TREK = VERY YES. God, I fucking love fandom. Now I remember why.
