I need stricter rules. Agreed. It's one of my gripes about supernatural shows, that it's so easy for them to ret-con what is no longer convenient. And I really think the whole compulsion thing has been vaguely played and changed and re-written from day one.

THIS IS A HUGE FUCKING DEAL. I KNOW! I mean, there was pretty much no reaction beyond "phew, Tyler is still alive," (and even that was kinda subdued!).

As for the Damon thing... the end of this episode really felt like the writers were trying to show us;

Season One Stefan = Season Three Damon
Season Three Stefan = Season One Damon

And I can see them having Damon being all "not cool, man, you need to stop with the [insert whatever Stefan gets up to]" with him, despite the fact that this (unswitched Stefan -- if the switch is even a thing... because that is as vague as the compulsion thing at this point!) is exactly what Damon's wanted for the past however many years (and, most importantly, for 99% of the show that we've seen) and pretty much exactly what Damon has been up to himself his whole (immortal) life.

I may be reading the signs wrong (I hope I am!), but I really don't want Damon being all PLZ DON'T UNLESS it's acknowledged that he finally got what's he's wanted but now he realises that he doesn't want it/it's not a good thing. If there is mention made of this then I'll actually be really happy. If they just pretend like none of that ever happened then... no thanks.

Argh. Does that even make any sense?! I'm fighting sleep deprivation and the INTENSE need to pee right now! Haha!! (TMI?! Sorry!)
