Title | A Matter of Time Fandom | Breaking Bad Characters | Skyler White + Jesse Pinkman Word Count | 650 Rating | R [violence] Warning | CHARACTER DEATH Written For | bellonablack
Your Skyler. Oh me. I like how all this affects her, how it isn't just an 'easy' thing, like the shock, the moment, and the compartmentalizing...but I like that she can look at the body and Jesse can't. I like how he keeps asking her and she is noticing that he 'doesn't know what he's doing', and I like how she know the inevitability. I like how she even thinks 'oh this is how you came to think' and can't afford to pity him. It's not that it's impossible for her not to, it's that she can't afford it, and how she continues to preserve her own mind by finishing her statement.
MAN.
"I know'.....Apparently someone shot him.
I like how clear this is in like, pure duality? Like how MUCH it was to take a life (to compare it to the locks of a car) and think of the child she had with him and those sweet memories memories....how she mothered Jesse enough to help him to the shower, how shocked she was that she had actually killed Walt--and yet, she had a clear boundary and let herself do what she had to do regardless...go through it herself, you know no matter cruel or not. YES.
And Jesse. I like that you know, he would have and is given that, but it would be 'long enough' and I like he was a 'junkie' enough to want to draw complete comfort from her. I like, even, how she was a Walt substitute and she kind of fit the role in a mixed way.
I CAN'T. THIS IS GREAT! And perfect, and I love you. This is so human and you fit in all their characteristics perfectly. <3
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I got catteo to read this through for me first because I was a bit worried that it was too much, you know? Also, for some reason I had you mixed up with another prompter and didn't realise it was you (I thought the prompter was someone I didn't know) so I was worried I'd freak them out! Then I re-checked the post and realised it was you and felt much more comfortable about the whole thing!
I like that she can look at the body and Jesse can't. I feel like Skyler would ~need to look. That she'd need to know, whereas Jesse's MO is (for the most part) avoidance. SO YAY! I am super glad that distinction worked!!
I like, even, how she was a Walt substitute and she kind of fit the role in a mixed way. YES! THIS! Because there ~are so many similarities between Walt and Skyler and Jesse may come up with good ideas every now and then (magnets!), but he still needs help to carry them out. He still needs Walt. Or Mike. Or the illusion of Gus. Jesse has minus amounts of self-confidence and him transferring his reliance to Skyler was definitely intentional.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR RESPONSE! I find this show terrifying to write, so, seriously, THANK YOU!!
The thing is:) I requested this from you because I knew you would do this right!<3 I mean the characters are intimidating and you would have to respect them a lot to get these two right --Which Happened!! :)
Skyler would need to know (a driving force for her) and Double Yes to avoidance being played out to the point you used it.
And that you used the Walt-Skyler similarities!!! <3 and didn't pull punches with who Jesse is.
I was excited to see you offer on the meme because I've wanted a good Skyler-Jesse fic dynamic and I knew you would be the person to ask :)z
