my weekend...

Hello! I haven't updated in a while so I figured I'd give it a shot while I'm on a break between classes.
This weekend was so exhausting. And it went by way too fast. This was my frat formal weekend. Overall, it was a good time. It felt a little awkward because besides Jim, I knew nobody who was on the trip or at the dance and whatnot. And I met such a large amount of people that I remember basically no one.
The hotel we stayed at was sooo nice-- The Palmer House Hilton. Our room was amazing too. It had 2 bathrooms! That's just crazy! We ate at a restaurant called Tavern on Rush with 6 other people. Dinner was probably my least favorite part of the evening. My food wasn't very good (beside the creme brulee for dessert). And the waiters were creepy. But anyway, it was snowing outside. It looked like movie snow. Very pretty. But that also meant that when we got to the top of the Sears tower, you could see nothing. The dance itself was a little lame-- like our prom except not many people danced. And instead of playing "Tipsy" 5 times, the DJ played a lot of club music (ewww). It was fun, but not great.
The next day, we had to wake up at 8 so we could get back in time so I could get to my ASL Symposium (it was at 2). Oh my god! That ride home was so stressful. We got back to Bloomington right at 2. I didn't know where the ASL thing was at so I called Andrea so she could look through my notebook and tell me the place I had written down (it was either at Bloomington North HS or South). There was some miscommunication I guess and I thought Andrea said North HS, so I had the guy who drove us to Chicago drop me off at Bloomington North. I walked into what I thought was the Sign Language thing, but in reality, was a meeting about girls' basketball. Shit. So I called Andrea to see if she could give me a ride to Bloomington South (where it actually was) but her brother was in town and she wasn't sure about it. So I'm freaking out because if I don't get to my ASL Symposium, then I automatically fail the class. I then call Manda (I really just wanted to cry at this point), and she came and got me and drove me to the other high school. Thank God for her. I promised her my first born child for giving me a ride (she also was wonderful enough to pick me up from it later). I finally got there, about 45 minutes late, but I was able to sneak into the Symposium and then sign the attendance sheet afterwards so as far as my professor knows, I was right on time.
The Symposium itself was a little weird. It was a deaf performer (which is basically a mine with an interpreter) who told stories for the 7 deaf kids in Bloomington. So it was like a kids' show where 98% of the audience was college students. The kids were on stage at one point, and they were so cute. They're 7 or 8 years old and basically fluent in sign language. It was just weird to see little kids with far more motor skills and dexterity than anyone in my sign class. The symposium was over at around 4 and when I finally got home, I felt like I could finally relax for the first time since Friday.
And this morning in my sign language class, we got to fill out course evaluations. It felt so good to mark in those "Strongly Disagree" circles. I really hated this class.
Anyway, I'm now out of things to write about.
Oh, one more thing. Everyone's invited to Michael's graduation party on Sunday, Dec. 18th, if you'd like to come.
