I just got out of religion class.

I am going to be a nervous wreck after that class every time.

How can people be content to live their lives based on such ill-formed convictions and back them up only with "I don't know that's just how I think"?

take a look into existentialism and you might find out why. most people who have their own existential breakthroughs end up very depressed and don't care much about life. believe it or not, it's kinda hard for a lot of people to accept the idea that once they die there's nothing else and still be able to enjoy life. when it comes down to it tho, it's mostly about how you've been raised. you're taught for so long that that's how it is, so you eventually just believe it, if even blindly. and venturing away from that can be very difficult. the japanese are taught not to look at their superiors. i'm sure they'd feel very uncomfortable in a meeting with their boss here in america knowing they're supposed to look at them here. a loose analogy, but it applies. what's more important is that you let yourself believe in what you believe in, and let others believe in what they believe in. as long as everyone's happy and getting along, does it really matter?

Dude, I was just thinking about YOU and THIS, today. I'm not kidding. Anyway, in the pretend-situation in my head, I asked you a question, so I'll ask you now:

By rejecting religion, don't you, in essence, do the same thing that those do when they blindly embrace religion?

Think about it, and then get back to me.
