I don't know how many of you are in mourning with me today as "Chuck" films its final scene, but remember "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
With that in mind, I am encouraging anyone who reads this to join with me and help give kids, who wouldn't otherwise be able to, the chance to smile. Even if you are not a member of the Chuck fandom, only casually watched, or never watched at all, you can help gives kids with cleft lips and cleft palates (and various other facial deformities) a reason to smile this season.
Two amazing fanfic writers for the Chuck fandom--Frea O'Scalin and Quistie64--have decided to team up and write fanfic (A chuck musical and more) for donations to the charity Operation Smile (the charity of choice of leading man Zachary Levi). When they started, the goal was to raise enough money to provide smiles for 2 kids ($480), however, in less than 2 days, they have managed to raise, with the help of Chuck fans all over the world, over $1500 (just over 6 smiles). With your help they would love to raise more (They list their deadline as Christmas Day). Don't feel obligated, but, if you can spare any money this season, even as little as a dollar, you couldn't go wrong with donating to this cause. And, if I am reading the tweets right, HasBro has agreed to match donations up to $250,000 this December of all donations made to OS, so whatever you donate is actually being doubled.
If you would like to donate:
Chuck will sing for a smile And if you don't want to give money, you can at least vote for which musical you would like to see Chuckified:
