Back at it...

Today was my first official day as managing editor. It felt strange to be in an actual office. I got a lot done today and am ready for tomorrow when the senior staff returns. I'm learning the ins and outs of my role in the newsroom and I feel as if the senior staff is going to be great this semester!

Jason got to run some examples of the redesign he worked on this summer. It looks great. It's nice to see it on actual newsprint as opposed to paper or the computer screen. The paper now has more room to breath. I consider it more reader friendly as well.

Adam starts BGR tomorrow which means he'll be living in a dorm for the next week. I hope he'll be able to fit some Clare-time into the tight BGR schedule. We've been used to getting to see each other almost every day so the transition back into school will be unusual for us. He's going to be student teaching this semester and working at Outback on nights and weekends while with my new position my schedule will be full from the time I wake up in the morning until the time I go to bed. Both our social schedules are going to be somewhat lagging this fall.

I want to try to get home before school starts but I don't know if it's possible. I'll see what I can do. I miss my family and I want to meet Phil and Jill's new puppy! I'm a doggie's aunt!

I've been doing a face mask as I've been writing this... so I've gotta stop so my face will no longer be green!
