Annnd im back. Again.
I came to look up avalible Hostels in Dover (my next stop) anndd thats not turning out so well. So instead im checking back into my accomadation (i found one by the way) and across from it is this nice cyber cafe, so hey, why not kill an hour here?!
Yesterday i found me a bed (at 60 pounds a night... i die a little inside everytime i think about it) Its a hole in the wall, literally. Im not complaining mind you, it was that or Hyde Park, and well, hole in the wallness! Haha, i got the bedroom underneath the loo, and going out is a common theme here, since around 1 am i heard a whole slew of noisy dutchman come in. Yay paper thin walls!
My intention was to head out to Dover today, but kink here and there means im staying put in London. (you can never find accomadtation on weekends can you?!) Which isnt to bad.
The tour de France starts here in London today! So i get to watch that! Yesss!
Yesterday after i checked in i got time and energy to walk around the city. I went to Hyde Park, and listened for a bit at Speakers Corner (i have Jesus pamphlets if anyone wants one) Then i headed to St James' monument. After that i hit up buckingham palace, and Princess Dianas rememberance trail. I was going to head up to Trafalager Square, but got side tracked and Headed down to the London Eye instead. Mind you i didnt go on it (hellllo line up that didnt end). Around the bank there were tonnes of street performers and i was throughly entertained. I headed up to Big Ben and westminster Abbey afterwards. I Sat down infront of the Tate Britan museum, but didnt stop in. I was tired and wanted to make the trek home.
The city, in general is well, WELL laid out for tourists. There are signs every where pointing you in the direction of any place youd like to go from one spot to the next. The fashion, as well, is rather advanced. You lok at people and they totally just fit with the London air. The cool shades, upturned collars and pouting lips makes you wonder why London isnt as well known as say Milan or Paris.
The streets are quite cute as well. Everytime you go to cross theres a LOOK LEFT -> or a <- LOOK RIGHT. To remind tourists that they drive on the opposite side here. That really doesnt help though. Back in Canada its the cars that have to wait for pedestrians. Here Pedestrians only ever cross as long as a car isnt coming. So if someones making a left and you walk out front, you pretty much going to be hit. Almost saw QUITE a number of accidents. Ive also seen men talking to pidgeons, Kids feeding the storks infornt of a sign that read 'Please do NOT Feed the Storks!" (It was a photo-op. But once it was done im pretty sure the stork started attacking the kid. heh.) Oh, and god help you if you start walking on the bike path! The bikers are merciless!
Since im here again today, im thinking ill go and check out Trafalagar, Covent Garden, Picadilly Circus perhaps and The Tour de france. Before i re-check in ill go try some more hostels too, maybe tonight i can find one? Gawd i hope so. I dont want that expensive hole in the wall again.
Sooo tired... soo missing all of you.
Anywhoo, im going to go check out those hostels, so i guess this is adue for now. If i wind up at the hole in the wall ill probably come online again a little later.
