Captain Beefheart is my new Tool. He's the fucking man, fusion jazz/blues/rock. If I won lotto I'd spend the whole $1,000,000 on one of his paintings...
I like Frank Zappa almost equally except that he made lotsa "dry" songs and loves Black Sabbath,and he's a Jew (lol).. Then again he is the man for re-forging Hendrix's burnt guitar and adopting it.
