This is a public service announcement
Eep! My cousin has invited me to go to a Green Day concert in Vancouver! Before I say anything else, let's clear something up.
The following is my opinion and you do not have to agree with it:
Green Day is a good band. Unfortunately they have unknowingly paved the way for a bunch of crappy bands (ie Good Charlotte, Simple Plan), but it is not their fault. It's like Weezer unknowingly pavng the way for a bunch of whiny emo bands. Most of you will agree that Weezer is a good band. Their songs are emotionally driven (like all songs I guess), but they whine with class. They whine in a way that gives us an ally and makes us feel better, not in a way that drives us deeper into our lonely depression. (and by 'us' I mean 'me'.) And they do not always whine. Take "Surf Wax America", for example. What the hell is that? Can anyone picture Rivers as a surfer? That song just makes me laugh. The point of this was to validate Green Day and I'm drifting into praising Weezer because I love them. I don't particularly care if you hate Green Day, but please don't just listen to one song and lump them in with the bad bands they gave way to.
Yep, so now you've probably lost all respect for me. That's ok.
Anyways I'm being bugged to get off the computer. Sooo quick summary of how Im feeling: Awesome! Concert with super cool cousin! We will mosh! (Yeah I know I'm going to die)
