Day 2 Rome

Jun 15, 2007 09:12

We got into Rome at around 1030 PM and got to our hostel at around 1130 PM since we had a 40 minute bus ride in between. I must say I was impressed by the brutal efficency of Ryan Air. Non reclining seats, 3 seats across on both sides, charging for all drinks and snacks, and even having a lotto. As far as the hostel we stayed at the stargate hostel. It was clean, but it was extremely hot and noisy. Combine that with jet lag and needless to say we did not sleep much. The next day we got up and checked into another hostel known as Ciao Roma. This one was much better since it was on a quieter street and had better air flow. Once we did that we went out exploring. We saw all the big sites on this day starting with the Colloseum, the Roman Forum, the Pantheon, and the Central Roman museum which had very cool old Roman art. If anyone is coming to Rome I definetly recommend what we did which was buying the Roma pass. 20 Euro for 2 sites and unlimted metro use for 3 days. After our day trip we took some a late siesta and met up with Kim Morgan and some of her friends at plaza Navano. From there we had a goot Italian dinner, saw the Spanish steps, and the Trevi fountain. We got back to our hostel at around midnight and just crashed. Day 3 has us going to Vatican city and then a train ride to Assisi.
