I know its lame to post news like this on livejournals and myspace, but I kinda wanted to get this out quick so no one has to find out from rumors or unreliable sources.

The Spark has decided to call it quits at the end of the summer. The three years we have been active have all been great, and there are no bad feelings between any of the members, but the time has come. It would be unfair to anyone that likes us and most importantly unfair to ourselves to continue when not everyone is still 100% into doing the band, and for us, finding new members is out of the question. The four of us have been there since the beginning, and each member is equally important to the chemistry we've built over these past few years. To play these songs with anyone else on any of the instruments just wouldn't be right. This band has consumed a good portion of my life for these past three years, and I look back on it with nothing but fondness. But despite this, the spirit and the feeling that was once there for myself and Darick just is not there any more. Realizing more and more that we did not have the same passion for the Spark we once did, the only choice was to end the band. To continue without the same level of passion and enthusiasm would go against everything we believe in and everything the Spark stood for. We will still be playing some of the local shows we already had booked, so check with the website for details of that (www.thesparkhc.com), and the LP as of right now will still be released at some point over the summer. A final show will be planned for the end of summer, most likely in August.

Thanks to anyone that booked us a show, gave us a place to sleep, brought us food, bought a record, came to show or just simply listened or helped in any way. We are forever in your debt.

I'm definately bummed to be ending something that's been such a big part of my life, but I'm positive its the right thing to do. To me its really important to end at a time when I can look back on everything fondly and be completely happy with everything we've done.
