Tough question. While overall I prefer the post 1965 work of the Beatles(Help! and everything after), the Rolling Stones era between Beggars Banquet and Goat's Head Soup are six of the greatest rock and roll LPs ever to be recorded, especially Let It Bleed and Exile On Main Street. I guess I would have to say the Beatles, but the Stones are not far behind. Also, the Beatles had the sense to quit while they were ahead.
