i think the bible is a mix. i have a problem with people saying it is "the word of god" when it was written by men. men have tainted the word of god by inserting their personal beliefs. it must be taken with a grain of salt..NOT LITERALLY.

i totally get what you mean. i've been thinking/talking about it (and other things) all day.

yeah.. i mean i can see there being some truth in the bible- i won't get into my actual beliefs- but i think the bible is a very poor representation of the truth, if there is such thing. anyways, for various reasons, i basically think the bible should not be taken literally or even be used as a book to live your life by. it is too faulty and questionable and i see it as an impossibilty that a single condensed document could oulast years upon years of translation and still be a direct source of knowledge for something that is essentially intangible.

you are such a respectable person when it comes to this sort of thing. thank you.

it has been translated. alot. changed to suit the reader/make it easier to translate, probably. that's why i think that there are truths in it but it is not accurate and especially not to be taken literally. i don't think we would be here and given a world that we aren't supposed to indulge in. it may sound liek i am a weak person but i don't see any glory in giving up the only life you are sure of for one that there is no solid promise of. i guess i am superficial but i can't make myself see it any other way. and it isn't god testing me as far as i am concerned.. that seems to be a common solution to a lack of faith.

oh and just because inspirational quotes come from something, doesn't really say much about it other than it was well-written.

well thank you for your opinion.
it's good to for everyone to have their beliefs, of course.
and especially to have them organized better.
