The inner workings of Johnny's + Why call teenage girls fat?

Somehow this very insightful article on JE found its way to me. I didn't want to keep reading it, as some stuff was slightly disturbing, but I couldn't stop. It was like a car crash or a Harry Potter novel. I just couldn't look away, even when things got disturbing or stupid. A world of pretty boys is only a click away.

For example, they are allowed to have girlfriends, but they can't flaunt having a girlfriend. Why? They have to appear "available". Huh? Look, I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but the chances of anyone that's just a normal person dating or marrying a famous person is fairly low. You've got a better chance of being struck by lighting. So, why be jealous if your favorite Johnny boy/other actor/singer/whatever dates? It kind of makes you look like a crazy person.

Also, Johnny K. himself may or may not be a pervert who molests kids in exchange for stardom. Ew. Several of his old Johnny's have written about it and there have been people pointing fingers at him for years. But, nothing has ever come of it. The truth is, he's a powerful guy whose company is home to about 80% of Japan's bankable young male artist. He's pretty untouchable. If it's true, well . . . someone needs to take a stand. If it's not, well . . . have you seen him? He looks a little perverted.

Other interesting things in the article:

-Johnny can crush whole television networks if they cross him. He's like the mob!
-Jin from Kat-Tun was apparently actually send to L.A. because he got a fourteen year old girl from some up and coming girl group pregnant, and then forced her to get an abortion. He then went to L. A. and got a legal white woman pregnant. If that's all true, I feel really badly for the girl. She lists her favorite film as The Tigger Movie for goodness sake!
-Johnny's first success was actually way back in the late 1960s.
-If you leave Johnny's, he pretty much 'black balls' you, and only the really really really really great actors can survive in the biz. Again, he's like the mob.

Recently, I've seen several articles in which young actresses are called 'chubby' or 'fat'. But, when I look at the actresses that are being called these things, they don't look that 'chubby' to me. They look healthy and normal. And, there is a difference between being 'chubby' and 'healthy'.

I get that actresses almost have to be super thin, but. . . if they're ten, fifteen, pounds overweight, that doesn't seem like a big deal to me. That's vanity weight. That's weight that you can lose to be healthier, but that's not weight that you have to lose.

Take for example Billie Piper, a UK actress best know as Rose Tyler from Doctor Who. Billie had a pop career in the UK in the late 90s early 2000s. She was about fifteen or sixteen, and the media (and some normal Joe Blows on the street) often referred to her as 'chubby'. Dude, she was fifteen! Her body was developing. So, she ended up with an eating disorder.

Then, when Doctor Who premiered in the United States, several magazines called her 'chubby'. She was playing a nineteen year old from an Estate, who worked in a shop, watched television with her mom, ate chips with her boyfriend, and hung around the local pub with her girlfriends. Yeah, she's not going to be stick thin. Plus, the girl looked perfectly normal to me. She even slimmed down as the series went on.

There's other examples, of course. Soap Opera actress Lindze Letherman from General Hospital appeared on the show shortly after turning fourteen. She was doubted 'Georgie Pourgie' by fans and soap magazines alike! A thirteen/fourteen was basically called fat by American housewives, high school, and college students. How insensitive. Again, she was still developing and she was losing her baby/kid weight. Now, at nineteen she's a very healthy looking young lady. She's attractive, and doesn't look like a stick.

This kind of thing doesn't just go on in the UK and US. The Japanese have called their actress “fat” as well.

Ayase Haruka who started out as a idol/model has recently taken a lot of flack for being overweight. (Though, she doesn't look it to me.) Anyway, she apparently gained several kilos of weight during her first year as a model. She seems to have a large sweet tooth, which is a problem. Her agency has (apparently) gone so far as to tell her that she has to lose weight or risk losing roles. During the making of Only Love even Akiko Wada called her “fat” to her face. Okay, she 'scolded' Ayase Haruka for eating so much, but it's pretty much the same thing. Whoa.

Now, I've seen her in several things. And, she never appeared “fat” to me. The only time she ever looked like she had put on some “vanity weight” was during Only Love. But, who wouldn't look like that standing next to skinny-skinny Kazuya “eat a sandwich” Kamenashi?

Someone else whose come under fired recently is Horikita Maki . That's right, Maki. When I heard that, I thought: What?! But, it seems like Akiko Wada has 'suggested' that Maki's overweight or chubby. Maki's also been called 'dowdy' by a few bloggers and fans of JE boys. (Jealous, much?) Okay, the girl is nineteen. And, she doesn't look chubby to me. Isn't she a model for several companies?

I also recently read somewhere (I think it might have been Jdorama ) that several people believe Suzuki Anne is fat. Again, I have to say: “Whhaatt?” I think Anne's a pretty young lady. She may have kept her 'baby fat' for a couple of years longer then her peers, but that certainly doesn't make her fat or chubby now, or even back then for that matter.

The same goes for Fukada Kyoko, who is looking great these days. People on Jdorama have 'praised' her for being able to get roles while being chubby. Oh, that's lovely.

What I want to know is, who are these people and why are they calling teenage girls/women in their early twenties fat?
