Another week of brilliant episodes. I am really in love with this show and cannot wait to see where the last eight episodes go. It has been a long time since a drama has grabbed me the way this one has. I believe I like this one .5% more than Faith/The Great Doctor, and that is saying something as I'm completely in love with that drama.
Episode Eleven:
- The scene where Eun Gi and Maru are on the road and she basically cries and says she's sorry for bothering him. She keeps calling herself stupid, and he's silent. But again, you can see it in his eyes - how much he feels for her. He's so angry at himself and stupid/evil Jae Shik, that EG believes he's angry at her.
- I think koala at
koalasplayground summoned the first few minutes up best: "I love how Maru just look so stricken when he absorbs the extent of Eun Gi current mental state (that she is so helpless that she would walk off with a stranger who claimed to be taking her to Maru) and her frustration and hopelessness about it. Maru thinks to himself “After how I let you go, how could you return like this? Seo Eun Gi, you little idiot.”"
- The thing about Jae Hee is that she keeps telling people not to harm "our Eun Gi" and talks about "my daughter", but I just cannot believe her. She doesn't love or care about EG. I'm sure she planned to marry EG off to lawyer guy or something, at least before MR. Now she just wants EG gone. However she can't have EG harmed, because if EG shows up hurt or is found as a sex slave - JH could get in trouble with the company or the press. JH doesn't care that EG is missing, she just has to keep up the appearance that she does.
- Random, but Lawyer Ahn is just so creepy. I honestly think he's playing his own game. He has his own wants and is certainly going for them. Even if it means telling Lawyer Park to quickly run away with EG and live quietly.
- Can we talk about the scenes with MR and EG at Secretary Hyun's house? It was just so well done! I love that EG was angry at him and that MR spoke sincerely to her. I think it was the first time he was 100% sincere with her. I also really love the contrast in their wardrobes; MR is now wearing a lot of black and EG is in a lot of whites and grays. Also, the imagery of the two of them against the bedroom door? Beautiful.
- What I love the most was that MR was completely willing to quickly move out of the house? Why? Well, to protect EG. But, as he told JG: EG came back. He made JG and his sister stay in that house for six years in case JH came back. But, EG came back after a year. And unlike JH, EG is willing to love MR and is in love with him and honest and pure in her love. Again, another nice contrast between the two women. MR waited for JH and she never returned. He waited for EG and she came back - she didn't have to be asked and she didn't come out of jealously or worry.
- Something tells me Joon Ha is going to regret asking MR to help EG. You don't ask your love rival to help the woman you love. Or you do if you're trying to get a company back.
- Even though nothing was said, I adored the scene where the family was moving. Jae Gil and Choco sleeping in the back, resting their heads on one another was cute. But, what got me was EG holding MR's hand tight, even as she sleep. MR's worried expression fit perfectly, as you just know he has a million worries at that moment about EG, his family, and himself.
- How much was I smiling during that last scene? JH thinks she has it all, however EG slowly walks in. I adored that EG was totally true in her feelings -she cried when she hugged JH. Then you see JH's face and you just know her tears are all for show. Yet another contrast between the two women. Oh, how pissed JH looked, how much she wanted to jump up as EG gave her speech. And the shocker - she'll have a new right hand man to help her - her fiancée, Kang Maru, will be her number two. JH's jaw drops, EG and MR share a smile, and I cheer.
Episode Twelve:
- How far has MR come that he now touches EG because he wants to? I loved the scene with them getting ready and talking over the bluetooth and than the scene in her office. Those two scenes, I think, really set up where the two of them are. He's there for her and will fight to her back where she belongs. She is now more open and ready to trust people.
- I think it's amazing that MR loves EG so much that he is willing to do everything he can to get her back where she belongs. He knows that once it is done he'll have to leave/she'll push him away, and that's okay. Because he'll have done everything he could for her. That 50% thing is just his way of playing the "bad guy", so it will be easier for him to go. (Though I'm fairly certain he'll try and give it to Choco before disappearing/dying.)
- JH, I just can't with her anymore. She wants what she wants, okay. Fine. But, when she was in her office and angry that JS didn't do what he said he'd do? OMG, lady! You'd rather she be sold into sexual slavery than come home?! Even if I'd lose everything, I wouldn't let my worst enemy be sold into slavery. I may think Lawyer Ahn is a complete jerk and a monster, but I loved that he called JH out by asking her a very simple question: is she pissed that the presumed dead EG is back or is she pissed that MR is by EG's side as her fiancée? (Side note: why has JH been looking for MR these past two months? Did she decide (again) that she truly loves him?)
- Honestly the elevator scene made me laugh a little. I love seeing JH seething with anger at seeing MR and EG together. JH is trying so hard to have her control back, but MR is way too wise to her game. Also, the way EG innocently asked if MR could come? Ha! Honestly, I love anything that pisses JH off.
- I have so much I want to say about MR and EG at the house with JH. EG's straightforward innocence is great (though I do love when the old her peeks out) and I love that MR covers for EG while insulting JH. The bit where JH told EG to go to the Chairman's office and beg for forgiveness for being crazy over a man when he died? As Koala said: "On shut your trap, bitch. She didn’t see her dad because you withheld his medicine and he died"
- OH, JH not everything is about you! It really doesn't even cross her mind that MR isn't there for her. He's there for EG! His whole speech to JH about EG made me smile so much. I love it.
- You know, I really liked the talk between Choco and EG about their fathers being in Heaven. I like that EG not has the friends and family she always wanted. Plus, it was sweet of Choco to give up her wish (of keeping MR healthy) in order to ask that EG get her memory back. (Side note: Hello, Foreshadowing!)
- Lawyer Ahn is an evil and horrid person! The whole thing with the notebook and cornering EG to ask her about it? Just stop.
- I thought it was rather sweet (and hilarious) when Choco and EG were talking in their bedroom. Choco teaching EG about how to get a little skinship going, and admitting that she's kissed JG three times without him knowing, made me laugh. It was also sweet of Choco to suggest making new memories and that EG should go on a trip with MR. EG admitting that she couldn't ask MR to on a trip because she is too shy and it’s embarrassing made me (and MR) smile. That's not the old EG, who once asked MR to go to the beach.
- First: why in the hell was JG whistling into the phone? Do people do that with their girl/boyfriends? I guess he was singing. Second: the scene where MR asked JG for dating advice was just perfect. He admits to not remembering anything he really did with JH! (Well, it was seven years ago.)
- So, what does MR do? He kidnaps EG and takes her to for their first date. It's simple and lovely and very peaceful. It was a beautiful scene with MR giving a voice over that makes me sad and worried and happy all at once.
- Then the last scene happened. They are in a tunnel, driving home. Suddenly EG sees the lights from another car and flashes back to the accident. She looks shocked. Did she remember everything? Just the accident? What will happen!?
In conclusion: why was there no preview for next week!?
