I have made no secret that the Mary Margaret and David romance annoys me. It seems I (and some others here) aren't alone. Yes!
Tvequals has listed their top five couples who need to get together - now. And, Mary Margaret and David are number five. The others on the list are more about UST, but these two -
Confession: I don’t want Mary Margaret and David to reconnect because I’m invested in their happiness; I want them to reconnect because their non-relationship is exhausting. Once Upon a Time has proven itself to be an unexpectedly wonderful fantasy treat, but if it has a weak spot it’s the real life side of Snow White and Prince Charming’s courtship. First he was in a coma, then he had a wife, then David and Mary Margaret had an affair and now Mary Margaret has been arrested for the supposed murder of David’s wife. It’s all too much!
I propose we set them up in a cozy cottage and let them spend next season fending off Regina’s attempts to sabotage their happiness as a team. We can still have plenty of drama, but we can have it without all the weeping, guilty kisses and surprise wives. - the article
THANK YOU! I'm happy the media (even if it is just a website) is starting to acknowledge the boring and exhausting relationship that is Mary Margaret and David.
Also - Community's Jeff and Annie made the list at two. Double yay!
We’ve all known Jeff and Annie were destined to end up together since their sexually-charged debate training session in season one. It seemed like they were headed for coupledom when they kissed in the first season finale…then nothing happened. They went back to flirting and weirdly hot head-patting while both acknowledging their feelings and acknowledging that on some level (okay, most of the levels) those feelings were a wee bit creepy because of the huge age difference between them.
But never mind the creepiness, Jeff and Annie just work. She makes him strive to be a less self-absorbed handsome jerk and he makes her lighten up a little. And hey, Annie’s not so young anymore. It’s time for these two to get together in the actual timeline instead of that glorious alternate universe one. - the article
