I know much of my flist is still working their way toward Romance Town. But, there are a few things I wanted to talk about. One thing is that I think its really a good move to have the whole show more or less take place on one street and focus more or less on the four families and their housekeepers. I love that every night all the housekeepers get together in ones rooms (they take turns) to play Go Stop and gossip about their employers. My favorite bit: "Does the President sleep with the wife or the mistress?" Every week the housekeepers get together to buy a lotto ticket and that is where things get interesting.
Noh Soon Geum (Sung Yuri)buys a lotto ticket for her and the housekeepers. She also buys a ticket just for herself. But, that night she's fired and one of the other housekeepers looks in a pocket and takes out a ticket. Here's the thing: the winning lotto ticket may actually be the one for all the housekeepers, not just heres. Soon Geum may have the lotto money, but it may be the money she was supposed to share with the other housekeepers! Ops! And why she is still working as a housekeeper in episode four?
Also, some people are getting confused about which housekeeper belongs to which house and whose who. Thankfully a kind person at
dramabeans wrote it all out for us.
Hwang Residence:
Hwang Yong (man of the house; collects gold bars and Kim Young Hee's grandfather's paintings)
Hwang Joo Won (daughter; has a broken off engagement for unknown reasons)
Zar Lin (housekeeper; not from Korea)
Kim Residence:
Kim Young Hee (Kim Min Joon, our secondary lead; got his money from selling his grandfather's paintings)
Da Kyum (Min Hyo Rin, our secondary female; a very young housekeeper who treats her boss more like a friend than a boss)
Jang Residence
Jang Chi Gook (man of the house; has glasses and pencil mustache)
Soon Ok (the wife)
Boon Ja (the younger mistress)
Hyun Joo (the housekeeper; starting an affair with her boss)
(Weirdly, the wife and the mistress live in the house together and seem to get along rather well. The mistress even calls the wife "Unni")
Kang Residence:
Kang Tae Won (man of the house)
Seo Yoon Joo (his new wife)
Kang Gun Woo (our male lead)
Kang San (a 3 year old - is Tae Won's son, but was registered as Gun Woo's)
Noh Soon Geum (Sung Yuri; our female lead)
Other Characters:
Soo Jung (the motherly housekeeper - she works for one of the four households, but I can't tell which)
Shi Ah (Soon Geum’s friend - has a three year old daughter; once made out with
Kim Young Hee)
Choon Jak (Gun Woo’s childhood caretaker. Was the housekeeper until she was fired by Gun Woo's stepmother and replaced with Soon Geum)
