Cinderella's Unni - episode ten text preview
Just a quickie for flist friends that are interested: (Thank soompi peeps)
Dae-Sung’s Funeral. Eun-Jo (Moon Geun-Young) couldn’t drop a single tear from her eyes because of the guilt of not calling him “dad” even once. Hyo-Sun (Suh-Woo) is blaming Eun-Jo for his father’s death but wants to be comforted by Eun-Jo and Kang-Sook. However, in midst of her huband’s death, Kang-Sook starts to reveal her personality to Hyo-Sun and Dae-Sung’s people. Meanwhile, Ki-Hoon decides to betray “Hong Joo Ga” from his guilt on Dae-Sung and his anger towards Ki-Jung.
So, basically: (from text and actual preview)
- After DS is buried, EJ is upset and feels guilty because she can't cry and never called DS "father",even though he often asked her to.
- HS is all wishy-washy and blames EJ for her father's death (Of course she does. Global warming is probably also EJ's fault in HS's world), but she also wants EJ and KS to comfort her.
- KS is basically like 'Now, I'm going to be a bitch. Look HS, I never liked you.' EJ is herself to HS, as well. (I get the feeling this will push HS even farther into her 'Victim Complex'? Now, she'll truly become "Cinderella" - only, you know, weaker and more spoiled.)
- KH grows a brain and decides to betray the people he's meant to be working for, because of his guilt and anger.
- JW buys something. (Maybe a gift for EJ?)
The preview for tomorrow just makes everyone look so depressed. EJ is fighting with her mother for goodness knows what. KH must comfort HS, whose walking around like some zombie. It's all very dramatic. But, everyone is falling into their fairy tale roles:
- KS is the 'evil' stepmother because she is no longer willing to put up with HS and her immaturity and sadness. It also seems like she'll want to be sure she and her son get the company and not HS.
- EJ is the 'evil' stepsister, because she basically tells HS: 'Look, I'm not going to be patient with you anymore' and it may look like she's also trying to take over.
- KH is the 'Prince' because he's the only one comforting HS.
- HS is the 'Cinderella', because as far as she's aware - she's the only one mourning her father. Plus! No one will comfort her and her stepmother and stepsister are pushing her off and dealing with other things. To HS, it may look like they are trying to take over and push her out, but that is most likely not the case, at least with EJ. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that EJ is trying to protect HS from the harshness of their mother. Yes, EJ is being harsh herself, but that, again, is a protection thing - sometimes you have to be mean to someone in order to protect them.
I wonder where we go from here. I can't see HS wallowing in the self-pity for too long. I do think she'll try to get revenge, but I do have to wonder why and how. Because, so far - EJ has done nothing to warrant revenge; dislike or even hatred, maybe, but not revenge. And yet, HS blames EJ for everything that goes wrong. And, it would go against EJ's character to have her suddenly start being totally evil and go all 'I'm taking over the company, you wash the floors or get out!' on HS.
Some posters at soompi have suggested that no EJ and KH can never be together. A couple have mentioned that now a HS/KH pairing is more likely. But, uh, DS was HS's father too. And, if anything, we know that this 'Cinderella' does not forgive so easily. So. . .tomorrow should give new insight into everything. With just five weeks and ten episodes left, I do wonder where this will go.
