A long overdue update...

Oh goodness - how long has it been since I've updated this?? Last November...that makes it a almost 4 months! Probably should keep this up-to-date...

Rob's been like a fish in water at school - he's holding his own and acing his classes! (all right; he got one B, but I still say he's aced it!) He was working at the campus bookstore, but quit after Christmas because he's going to be working for the church we attend (they were going to lay him off anyway due to budget cutbacks...) as their Youth Pastor (unofficially their associate pastor). As Rob is in the candidacy process for the UMC, he's eventually hoping to be appointed there through the conference (at least while he's in school).

I've been busy with challenges of my own. I was working as a Resident Counselor for HCS (an agency that works with people who have developmental disabilities - I probably mentioned that a few entries ago), and in December my manager asked me to step up into the position of Shift Coordinator (essentially, assistant manager) at the house. So after getting the hang of one position, I've accepted another and am finally getting the hang of this! It's lots more responsibility (and paperwork), as I have to stay on top of the medical aspect of the house and scheduling staff, as well as working on the finances and monthly paperwork...

In other news, Rob and I made our first major purchase together as a married couple - a new couch! A really big, comfy, stain-resistant one! :) It's the kind of couch that you sit down on and it sucks you in so your feet are hanging off the floor and air is forced out of your lungs in the sound of "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" at the same time. Seriously, that sound has come out of the mouths of every person who has sat on this couch - it's just that comfortable! I love it :) It's cozy and I can just curl up on it and work (I have a definite affection for overstuffed furniture and this fits the bill like no tomorrow!) For anyone who's looking for the kind of couch you can love forever, I'd recommend looking in the Raymore & Flannigan discount center! :)

There's really not much more news than that...aside from the fact that I got a new piece of technology on sale - an MP3 player (my first one ever!) and I'm having fun playing with it :) Rob's got a new toy of his own - a PS2 that he found on sale with some funky game called "Destroy All Humans" - fun times...A new hobby for when he's not studying! Personally, I prefer my Nintendo...but that's just me :)

So ends the update...Hope it was informative!!
