A Kayti Update

Aug 22, 2006 00:20

Hi!! How are you doing?? What's new and exciting with you?? It's been a long while since I've sent an update out, so I thought I'd drop a note and say "howdy!" and bring you up to speed!!

Japan - Oh, how I miss it! More specifically, I miss my Sisters and Brothers there!! And my "little duckies" in the K4 class!! I arrived back in New York in June with plans to stay for a while.

New York - Almost as soon as I set foot back on American soil, I was overwhelmed with wedding details. My college friend, Rob, were married in a very simple, small, and warm ceremony a little over a week ago. Now, we're settling into our apartment and re-adapting to life in Roch... Rob will be starting Seminary in a few days, and I've accepted a job with Heritage Christian Services (I start in a few days, too). I'll be working with people who have developmental disabilities in one of their residential homes. (I had applied for a chaplain progrom, but wasn't accepted for this fall...maybe next year!)

After about 6 weeks of living out of my suitcase and bouncing between my parents' and Rob's, it is WONDERFUL to finally be settled!!! Rob is a wonderful man, husband, and friend and I love him SO much!!! We've been blessed with a beautiful home of our own (small as it is, and full of boxes at the moment) and really nice neighbors. On Sunday, we found a church with evening worship that we really enjoyed (it is FANTASTIC! to finally be re-plugged into a Christian fellowship; I've really REALLY been homesick for HCN and MNMC - it's been a rough last-6-weeks).

Thank you so much for your love and prayers!!!!! I know this is a very short update; it's late and my brain is screaming at me to go to bed, so there it is!
