Morning, New York City

Savannah was frowning into the phone as she paced the living room of the penthouse she and Johnny shared.

"Adam, are you sure? Well why didn't Paige call me and tell me herself?" She sighed, rubbing the center of her forehead. "Doesn't Benicio realize yet that doing something like that is just guaranteed to make both Lucas and Paige balk at him?"

She paced some more, listening to the other end of the conversation. "No, you're right. But I need to know about these things -- if only to keep the family from getting into another one of those fights where they decide not to talk to each other for months." Savannah narrowed her eyes. "Keep that up and you're not invited to my wedding and I'll get Wyatt to walk me down the aisle. No, we haven't set a date yet."

She went to the fridge to get some orange juice. "Well, if Benecio doesn't stop upsetting Paige, he can sit in a corner at the wedding." She sighed. "What? No, I'll come. If someone had told me about the murders in the first place, I might have been able to do something before the Nasts had to get involved -- and I don't care why they're involved. Thomas and Josef Nast plus Benicio and the other Cortezes can only mean trouble. No, we are not telling Sean and Annja about this. They just celebrated their one year anniversary. I can at least buy my big brother some time before he has to deal with his relatives again." She shut the fridge with more force than she had planned.

"Yes, I'm pissed at you. You're supposed to be my best friend and let me know when things happen that might upset my family, Adam. No, you're supposed to call me before the last minute and I know you only do this because you like poking at Johnny and annoying him." Savannah sighed, pulling at her hair. "No. I'll get packed and get the first flight to Oregon that I can. I'll let you know when I make arrangements. And Adam, this time, be there to pick me up at the airport. No, because I am not calling Wyatt and Chris each time I need to get across the country to solve a family squabble. They're my family, not my taxi service. Yeah, me too, even if you are a pain in my ass." Savannah gasped and narrowed her eyes again. "Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?" She shook her head and hung up her cell phone.

Now the really hard part. She went into the bedroom and sunk down on Johnny's side of the bed. "Sweetheart? Sweetheart wake up, I need to talk to you."
