They're GONE!
I wasn't burgled. I lost no property. It's much worse.
Over last weekend I ended up with an earache . . . not like I haven't been having those since I was a wee tyke. They hurt and my parents put warm glycerin in my ear. The heat helped send the pain away. To contain a glycerin leak, they put a little was of cotton in my ear to keep it in. Like most child earaches it went away and nothing happened.
The weekend I had at the start of this week did NOT go away like all the others. On Wednesday the tinnitus in my ear was so bad I saw a doctor about it. He gave me antibiotics to make the infection go away. The pain went away. The tinnitus subsided but did not entirely leave. Now I am left with the result. All the high frequency sounds are gone. I don't hear them like I used to. I love music. It isn't going to be the same . . . not ever.
The loss of those sounds have their effects as well. When I hear things outside, I no longer can tell where it comes from, It seems to echo and leaves me unable to focus on the source.
I guess at my age, I can expect more like this as my body slowly falls apart. I just never thought it would go like this.
