Yes, as my doctor said to me, my blood sugar is up higher than it should be. I was told I have Type II Diabetes. Now I am checking blood sugar levels every day. Carbs are officially out of my diet though I do have desserts now and then. I am not sure how to deal with the meal thing. She wants me to eat in the morning . . . something I have not done for a very long time. I have this "blood sugar" control med in pill form. I have to take it in the morning with food. The pharmacy says if I don't take food with it, it could cause diarrhea and cramps as side effects. I have experienced none of that so far. I don't like eating early because it adds calories to what I would have for dinner. Ehh. . . . I will have to look at my dinner menus and rearrange things so calories stay the same and I don't end up hungry enough to eat the dog.
Figuring out how to lose weight is the tough one. At my age (68) losing weight is tougher than it was when I was younger . . . I have to tip the scales in my favor, but the body does not "want" to lose weight. It wants the status quo and if given the chance it wants to be heavier. I have been on a constant diet since I was fourteen. I have never let up and my body hasn't either. I am not sure how to shock the body into letting it know it is NOT going to have its way . . . maybe tummy tuck or liposuction? I have considered it.
Exercise is easy. I have increased that to help fight the blood sugar in my blood. I do as much as this old body will allow, bad joints and all.
Only time is gonna see what I have to do to get to where blood sugar is more or less normal again. What a life!
