Just this morning I was able to attend day one of the two-day "Pinoy Media Congress, year 2" as "conducted" by ABS-CBN at Miriam College.
What can I say? The entire event itself looks nothing more but an orchestrated publicity stunt for the Lopez power bloc.
And probably also to lure in potential drones (the students) that the oppressors can utilize to further subjugate the commodified audience of their media network. All these behind the blinding glare that the mean corporate machinery imposes on the mostly unguarded student bodies.
Now, it really is hard to find a socially responsible job (in the corporate world, media, and elsewhere) with all of media being hegemonic (as a friend told me). Blame advertising. Blame capitalism. Blame hegemony. I don't know anymore.
Tomorrow I prefer not to go back to Miriam.
Come to think of it, I wouldn't be this if not for the SOCIETY class of Sibayan - who by the way I just saw walking right smack in front of me along Estrada near Alva, as I headed towards the apartment earlier tonight.

For some hard-to-elaborate reasons, I feel as if it's already Wednesday. It's Monday but I've already lost my usual sleep pattern (I have two hours' worth of sleep at the moment) due to the needs of THSCAM1, and partially due to some slacking that my thesis mates and I do whenever we supposedly meet to accomplish something.
Take for example last night, when nothing productive was done (THSCAM1-wise) except for enhancing our vocal cords (thru singing on the PC-oke) and making a scare out of each other (w/ Stan, Ton and Peter) until the wee hours of the morning.
But hey, I do enjoy occasional slacking. I believe that yes, we can finish it by Wednesday (at the latest).
Now I will nap, and be a nocturnal creature later.
