[Ray is very obviously in the wastes, sitting on a rock, with a small pile of dead wildlife (mostly killer rabbits) at his feet. I cannot say I'm not curious as to your reason for admitting this, though I'm sure the reason is likely among yourself and those here that you know.

However, tensions have been high here in other ways--does your confession have anything to do with that?

[A very round-about way of asking if Ray is in danger, basically. Shuichi doesn't think so, but things haven't been quite right the last few days. And since he and Ray have spoken before, it's enough to him to ask. He never used to care for those he barely knew.]

It's not the current city tensions that have me mentioning this now. Rather, the facts of my past and my lack of openness about them were... used against me in the past few days. I do not wish such a thing to happen again.

Unfortunate that you've been in such a compromising situation. [He looks sympathetic, at least. Not that Ray would necessarily appreciate sympathy, but at least Shuichi isn't mocking.]
