[The video comes on to show Ray walking around a small building that looks like it's had some recent repairs.]

Should work. Just need to get the smoke in there....

[He kicks base of the building and smiles slightlyI don't suppose anyone here has an ax? Or something of the sort? I fear I've arrive woefully unprepared for this sort of situation ( Read more... )

[Fresh rabbit. Oh, that looks tasty. And wouldn't Tybalt enjoy fresh meat, rather than meat from those odd tins - if such things can be called meat. What can she barter?]

I fear we have neither axe nor skill in tanning hides, but should you need anything mended or sewn afresh, I would be willing to offer my skills in exchange for a rabbit now and again.

[Hope hope hope.]

This is the sort of thing I was hoping for. I do not wish to set anything up right now until I can get a trap line set up.

But I thank you for the offer.

[She nods.]

That makes good sense. But please do keep us in mind should your trapping prove fruitful.

Of course my dear. You shall be the first to know.

You are quite kind, Ray. Tybalt will enjoy the fresh meat. I do not know that Bubbles has eaten rabbit before, but she is an adventurous enough child that I think she will enjoy it.

I see no need to horde my skills. Meat only lasts so long after all, and I would hate to see it spoil when others could enjoy it. And I could gain access to those skills I don't posses.

As I said, kind. And practical. I am doing something similar with my sewing.

If you wish to be formal, Ray, you must allow me the same courtesy. Either I am allowed to call you by your surname, or you may call me Juliet.

[Slight teasing.]

Ah, well since I have no family name to give, I will have to bow to your wishes, my dear Juliet.

[And he's teasing right back]

[No family name to give? Or is he simply being coy and wanting to remain on familiar terms? Juliet decides it is the latter, given the endearment he adds to her own name. But as they have only spoken through the machines, it is innocent enough.]

Your dear Juliet? Good sir, beware your tongue. You have not known me long enough to refer to me as such.

[And still teasing.]
