The Courtship Rituals of Goths
So, a band I enjoy, De/Vision, is playing in San Francisco in a couple of weeks.
Today I messaged Patrick asking "So... I was wondering if you were planning on going to see De/Vision... and, um... if so, would you like to go with me?"
He replied "Yes, I was planning on going. And I would love to go with you."
Excited. It seems sort of scary to have a date to an event like that. Where a lot of my friends will be, and out in public (and by "in public" I mean, within the goth/industrial scene) and all. It feels like I'm putting myself (and by extension, the fact that I'm not coming alone to the show) before the rest of the world for judgement, or something.
