[In the 50's, the Postman still delivers on Saturdays! Balin heads out of 847 Goldberg Street to check the mail-and, after opening the mailbox and retrieving what's inside, sees that it's a package in his name.]

Huh. They finally sent me somethin' else?

[Kiritsugu doesn't have the ability to use magic anymore, but his knowledge of how it feels has been unaffected by that. While the traces of it are almost completely undetectable in his current state, he knows something is going on.]

[He arrives shortly after this happens, having missed the light show. Without a word, he draws a half-empty pack of aspirins he bought recently, offering it.]

Wilbur.

[Balin glances up, surprised.]

-Kitsurigu! Haven't-seen you in a while-

[His voice a shuddering quality to it, the kind that comes with enduring a lot of pain-but he looks really grateful that someone's shown up with painkillers.]

-Oh man-thanks. I owe ya big time-

[Taking the pack, Balin hurriedly pops some asprin ... a little more than the usual recommended dose. He's hurting like a mofo. After Balin's done, he gives the pack back to Kitsurigu, and sighs. It's gonna take some time for that to kick in ...]

-Even'a fuckin' mail is sadistic around here.

[A nod]

I've only witnessed objects being given back so far. I suppose health conditions or abilities would be more taxing on a person.

Do you know what happened?

[That picture of the Golden Ratio is still next to Balin, where he'd dropped it in the midst of the download process.]

Sorta-I think Mayfield gave me back my tabula ... but it ain't-

[He winces. This is going to be hard to explain clearly ...]

Hm...?

This may not be the best time to ask for that information. Do you need to rest?

[Balin tries to stand up. He stumbles a bit, though.]

It's-part of'a Logos System. Mayfield made me learn all'a Logos Elements I knew-all over again. At'a same time.

[He gets back on his feet, though he looks a bit uneasy, and is still holding on to his head with a hand.]

I-prolly. This feels like a fuckin' migraine.

Logos... Your world's equivalent to magic, I take it.

[And if so, then the pain is hardly surprising. Danger might as well be synonymous with magic in his world. He himself suffered heavily from its use.]

That's-prolly'a best way to describe it. It was developed by an alien race-"Logos" is our name for it.

I guess-you could think of'a Tabula as bein' like those-scrolls or whatever wizards use'a write runes an' seals on. Only-

[Balin holds up a hand, then stretches it out to his side. This is going to make his headache more annoying, but he wants to demonstrate this to Kitsurigu as well as himself, like a self-diagnostic.]

[Rings of blue light swirl around his wrist, before he performs a hand gesture that looks like he's pulling down window blinds. Only instead of window blinds, something that looks like a bluish glowing holographic window manifests. It's mostly blank, but stick figure-like ideograms can be seen floating within it, just barely, forming phrases and sentences in an alien language.]

... It's like'at. That's'a Tabula.
