well yesterday i spent the whole day cleaning... my room is now pictureless and starless on all walls and the ceiling :-( But i only have to live with it like that for what... 4 weeks and 4 days (not that i'm counting down or anything).
Today I woke up on the early side (630) and went to the swap meet with Shannon. We got cool backpacks and a pair of fake arnettes. The hour/two hours between the swap meet and svbs set up were my most peaceful moments today. I got to the church just short of noon, and i am just now getting home at 11:35. Thats nearly 12 hours of MADNESS!!!!! Problems, problems, problems. I guess thats what you get when u put on a day camp for 1,000 kids. Actually, thats what you get when putting on a day camp for a thousand kids in South Orange County. Whats the difference u ask? Well all the problems are these parents who are signing up the DAY BEFORE the camp starts and expecting there to be room for their little Johnny in whatever group he wants to be in. Well theres not but the parents expect there to be... and its always the staff's fault that Johnny can't be with their friends. Well at least this year I got to do ALL admin work instead of decorating, because as gratifying as decorating can be... its such the pain. First of all you have to check in everytime u need something/finish something/have a question PLUS you have to deal with all the rest of the staff's kids who are "helping" . So instead I worked with Kathy Nat and Lety, in our quiet little office hunched over the computers throwing the notebooks back and forth. The best part of the whole day is the free food... Subway for lunch, Papa John's for dinner. MMMMMMM!!!!! As dumb as this is gonna sound, its so true...It is like one of the coolest feelings to be told that your opinion is trusted and to be put in charge by people that you look up to. Today Charles gave me complete authority on this project and he's like u make the decision and whatever it is... i'll back u up on that. OMG it was the coolest. The middle of the day was me and the copy machine. Before today... I couldnt work the thing if i tried. Now i'm a pro.... I can use that sucker with my eyes closed ! lol . The last two hours were all nametags.... 1,000 kids x 5 days + 200 volunteers = A LOT OF WORK!!!!!!
And tomorrow morning i am expected to report in at 7 am. OH THE JOY! but its all for a good cause. It's gonna be a kickass week! NO JOKE! we have all this stuff from the finding nemo display at the spectrum and this really cool aquarium thing... and everything just looks cool. It's tight.
My only break was when i just got up and peaced out for like half an hour without telling anyone. LOL. it's ok i reported to K Nat and she peaced out too... so i doubt i was even missed. It was cool though because I spent the whole time on the phone with Ryan... he's in hawaii right now (I'm sooo jealous). And being the DUMB kid he is, he got another tattoo... (im jk-ing bout him being dumb, we just disagree on the issue of tattoos). He gets back on Tuesday (when our big screen also comes! :-P ) ok well i have to be up and leaving in like 6 hours. which is not a good thing
