I know there are two posts in a row from me, but by my clock, they're on two different days. Also, I wanted to get in my entry for the contest before it was past due.
Title: Mistletoe Kiss
Prompt: Mistletoe
Pairing: Kevin/Scotty
Rating: G (since I'm assuming no one here is going to be surprised by same sex kissing)
Word count: 257
Summary: Kevin is too busy rushing around getting ready for Christmas dinner to notice the mistletoe.
Disclaimer: I own nothing, except the mistletoe (kidding).
Author's Notes: Title is only semi-inspired by "Merry Merry Merry Frickin' Christmas" by Frickin' A, while the LJ cut text is completely quoted from it.
“I need the presents for everyone. Scotty, have you seen the present for Elizabeth? Where are my shoes? I have a tie around here somewhere.”
“Kevin! Just stop!”
Kevin paused from his holiday frantic to look at his husband. “What’s wrong Scotty?”
“You keep rushing around paying no attention to me.”
“Sweetheart, I’m sorry. I’m a little tense, and we’re running late.”
“Fifteen seconds. That’s all I’m asking.”
“I’m sorry, what is it?” Kevin didn’t mean to, but he couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious and annoyed because he hated to be late, even if it was just a family get together.
“Look up.”
Kevin looked at the ceiling of the living room.
“Sorry I should have been more clear,” Scotty said with a little laugh. “Look above me.”
Kevin glanced at the door frame to the bedroom where his husband stood and saw the mistletoe.
“Oh Scotty sweetheart, I’m sorry.” Kevin walked over to Scotty and kissed him.
“Thank you. I know you don’t like traditions, but I thought-”
Whatever Scotty thought was never expressed as Kevin cut him off to kiss him again.
“We really have to go though,” Kevin said, feeling suddenly more relaxed.
“Your shoes are by the door, and here’s your tie.” Scotty handed Kevin his red tie.
“Merry Christmas Scotty.”
“Merry Christmas Kevin. Now it’ll be okay, it’s just your family. And Elizabeth’s present is on your desk.”
“Okay, do I have everything?”
“Yes we do.”
With a smile, Kevin grabbed Scotty’s hand as they walked out the door.
