other than the musical number, are there any good songs about oklahoma?

At some point I will have a lot to say about my visit to Oklahoma (which I'm still on) but I want to talk to some people about it first, so you will all have to wait.

In other news, I finished Eldest and I kind of want to hit Christopher Paolini over the head. Not for any of the reasons you may want to hit him over the head, but still I do. I'm just saying, there better be a lot of redemption of characters in the third book, or he's off the Christmas card list next year.

In other news, the book was really, really good. He continues to impress me with his ability to build a plot, keep several story lines going and intertwined and not confusing or lame. He's still a little much with the thesaurus. I don't mind having to use the dictionary when reading a book, but when the word doesn't really fit in the context of the rest of the book? That's kind of annoying. Stylistically, I mean. Every other word is simple and fine, and then you hit "fecund" and I'm thrown out of my little fictive haze to attempt to define the word. Laaame.

Anyway. I still have a massive crush on Eragon, mostly because of the guy that played him in the movie. I also still have a massive crush on Murtagh, though the things that happened with him in the second book make his portrayal in the first movie a little wierd. Oh well, Garrett Hedlund. I know it's not your fault.

I didn't mention this after I finished Eragon, but the book is so much better than the movie. I know that's normally the case with books and movies, but they changed the movie so much from the book that it's almost incomprehensible. It also doesn't fit with the second book anymore, so I'm interested to see what they'll do with that, if indeed a second movie is made.

And now, I think I'll stop talking about Eragon, because I'm beginning to feel a trifle lame.

eragon, books, movies, oklahoma
