OMG. I didn't think it would be this fun, but it IS. I mean, I've had new (to me) cars before, and they were fun, but this is MINE and has been ONLY MINE FOREVER. Eeeee! I heart it. :)

I know! I've never (before my current car) had a vehicle that someone else hasn't owned before me. And it's not just about the new car smell, it's about knowing that the seat is going to conform to YOUR ass, that YOU are the one to set the radio presets, all that good stuff. It's a rush, man.

Same here! It's the most fabulous feeling to know that I'm it, the car's only owner. I mean. For real. The only people that have even put gas in the tank are the people at the dealership. My roommate was the first person to stuff herself in the trunk. I mean. FIRSTS! All over the place!

How do you go about naming your car? I ask this because when I got my car, I decided after a while to name it Zippy, because it is cute and I zip around in it a lot. But! Everyone (or nearly everyone) has scoffed at it. People tell me that it's not a "proper" car name, and that it gives the car no dignity, blah blah blah. I love the name, but it's hard to stay convinced it's the best name for her (definitely a girl car) when everyone else is scorning it. [sniffs]

I mean, I could have called it Orlando or Aragorn, and then I'd be all over town with "Orlando" or "Aragorn," but that's even more wrong, I think!

Huh. Well I named my BMW The Bitch because that's the car I learned to drive stick on, and it was a sloppy bitch in the clutch. But that's not really a name you can tell everyone. :)

I named The Candy Apple that because she was Candy Apple Red. So this is really the third car I've named. I'm not really sure of the finer points but I think Zippy is a perfectly cute and fine name. You just have mean friends. :)

Mazal tov! Don't you love that new car smell? I think "Frankie" sounds totally appropriate. I haven't named my silver xB yet, and uschickens and I are currently trying to come up with 3 choices for a vanity plate---so far "katsbox" is number 1 ;-) Holler if you have any brilliant ideas.
