blathering

How did I become readdicted to McShep? Srsly, y'all, I haven't read anything else for MONTHS. I mean, except books.

SPEAKING OF BOOKS. I just finished I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore (who, btdubs, is not an actual facts person, but the pen name of James "Thousand Little Packs of Lies" Frey and a coauthor whose name I never bothered to learn). It looked like it should have been so good, but sadly, it was not at all.

My first month or so as an assistant manager has been mostly good, with a few piddly and (quite frankly) STUPID mistakes peppered throughout. The mistakes were apparently just enough to get me downtown yesterday for some training with the district manager. The training needed to happen anyway, and would have happened at some point, but I got called in on Thursday morning, after working until 10:30 the night before. So my schedule yesterday was training all morning, go in to work at 2:30, and work until 10:30 again. Add on top of that an hour commute each way, and I left the house at 7:30 and didn't get back until 11:30.

It was a hellish day.

But at least it was sandwiched by reading McSheep.

OH AND TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY. My mother's dog ate my rainbows. Not, like, oh whatever, those really awesome flip flops called rainbows. THEY WERE EATEN. I have no rainbows anymore. *sob* I wore them every single minute I was not at work, so this is quite a blow. I'd had them for three years, they were perfectly broken in. I actually walked outside when I found them and cried for a minute in the dark, that's how emo and sad I was at this development.

Look, a duck! *runs*
