So back in May of 2005, I
bought a Honda Civic. I got a five year loan on it, which means that at the beginning of this month, I finally freaking finished paying it off. Loads of excitement abound, me bouncing off the walls, etc.
And then Sunday, May 16, the hail storm to top all hail storms happens, and SOFT BALL SIZED HAIL pelts my car for twenty straight minutes. A visual reference:

Lost the windshield, lost the back window. Both of those went out DURING the storm, so there was also hail damage INSIDE my car, mainly on the back dash, which is pretty much inside my trunk now. Thank the dear Lord baby Jesus, I hadn't actually gotten around to doing anything about the comprehensive coverage on my car, so I still have that, and my deductible is only $100. It's still awaiting an appraisal, but I have a feeling they're going to total it. Sigh.
Here's a pic of the front of the car. I had a pic of the back, but it didn't turn out. I want to get another before they haul it away.
I was at the store Sunday when this happened. We've got a metal roof, and you can imagine what soft ball sized hail sounds like hitting a metal roof. Some kid in the store flipped her shit because she thought the world was ending. It sounded like the wrath of God beating down on our heads. CRAZY, CRAZY SHIT.
